Nsixty4 Laptop [Work Log]

Postby humakabula1 » 09 Jun 2010, 18:41

Here is the work log of my Nintendo64 laptop portable.
I like to call it the 'Nsixty4'.
(This will be updated quite rarely  )

The first step was quite the same to my 360laptop, i made some blueprints!
Image
This is the final blueprint, The yellow parts are the batteries and the crowning achievement is the drawer.
(The section where the game cartridges are will be the drawer)

Now the second thing i did was do some case designs...Enjoy!

1st pic shows the overall design,
The 2nd shows the front of the closed unit
and the 3rd shows the back of the closed unit.

Ok i built myself a vac-former, got the n64 in the post and ripped it up! :rocker:

The n64 cost me $2.50au (~£1.40) it also came with an expansion pak too.

hurz the picccys!!!!

Vac-former (its not fully done yet as i need to connect the hose adapter)

and here is the n64 progress
Image
I got 5 of the screws out with a pair of needle nose pliers, but i used the melting the pen to get the deepest one out.
Image
People keep saying that the heatsinks are hard to remove, but i thought they were easy! :P
Image
And i yanked out the cart slot

now i can start testing the cart slot kit

i was,
i lost the original prototype so i had to start it again, only this time i cant find the same pin conector on eBay...

so for this particular n64 imma just going to do a standard relocation.
if i end up buying a lot of consoles from phain i will be doing quite a bit of testing.

Ill try not to, dodgy thing is the n64 has next to none when it comes to fuses, if it were a xbox you could short it all you like (thats not recommended)

I have to investigate a trace aroun the white painted area (were the cart slot was) it may he broken, if so i will have to gt it fixed...
